Three kinds of load rating

A pallet does not have one capacity — it has three, from highest to lowest:

Static load — the most a pallet holds sitting still on a solid floor (the highest figure).
Dynamic load — the most it holds while being moved by a forklift or pallet jack.
Racking (edge) load — the most it holds supported only on its edges in racking, with nothing under the middle (the lowest figure).
