As a rule of thumb, a 53' dry van holds 26 standard 48×40 pallets on the floor (up to ~30 turned), a 48' van about 24, and a 26' box truck around 12. The 48x40 pallet — often called the GMA pallet, after the Grocery Manufacturers Association that standardized it — is the most common pallet footprint in North America. It's the size we keep in stock in both Grade A and Grade B, and it fits most standard racking, forklifts, and trailers.
